Established Partnership with Thatchers Cider Continues
Somerset County Cricket Club are pleased to be able to announce that we will be continuing our long-standing relationship with Thatchers Cider.
The new three-year deal will see the Somerset-based company remain as the Club’s Official Cider Partner.
The two organisations have been successfully working together for more than a decade and the renewal of this partnership will see Thatchers continue to have exclusive cider pouring rights at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
As part of the agreement, Thatchers branding will remain in situ on the stunning roof terrace situated in the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion, which gives Members and hospitality guests the opportunity to enjoy the matchday experience from an unrivalled vantage point.
The Thatchers logo will also feature on the back of the Somerset Women Vitality Blast shirt, whilst 2025 will see the introduction of the Thatchers Player of the Match and Player of the Month awards for Somerset Women.
Additional Thatchers branding will be in high profile areas at the Cooper Associates County Ground and the two organisations will continue to collaborate on exciting content creation and competitions for our Members and supporters.
Regarding the continuation of the partnership, Somerset CCC Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert said: “We are delighted to be maintaining our successful relationship with Thatchers. There’s nothing more quintessentially ‘Somerset’ than enjoying a pint of quality cider whilst watching the cricket on a summer’s day.
“Over the years, we have developed an outstanding working relationship with Martin Thatcher and his team, and their products continue to be extremely popular with our Members and supporters.
“Thatchers is a local family run business and leaders in their field, and we look forward to the continuation, growth and development of this mutually beneficial partnership.”
Philip McTeer, Head of Marketing at Thatchers Cider added: “Somerset County Cricket Club continue to go from strength-to-strength, both on and off the pitch, and we’re proud to be the cider of choice for our county team. There’s something magical about having a matchday pint at Taunton, and we’re already looking ahead to the 2025 men’s season and celebrating and supporting the inaugural season for Somerset Women.”
Thatchers have been at the forefront of cidermaking since 1904. They use their knowledge and expertise of apple varieties to produce a range of premium bottled, draught and canned ciders, including Thatchers Gold and Thatchers Haze – both of which are available in the bars at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
