Anya: An incredible career in numbers
Following Southern Brave’s recent victory in the final of the Women’s Hundred, the curtain finally fell on the incredible career of Anya Shrubsole MBE.
Her England debuts came in 2008 and the pinnacle of her international career came with her player of the match performance in the 2017 World Cup final.
Here, we take a numerical look back on her time within the game.
Anya was only 12 years old when she made her Somerset debut. She claimed two for 20 from six overs and helped Somerset to a four-wicket win over Berkshire.
She became the first girl to join the Somerset Academy when she was 13.

In 2018 Anya became the first woman to appear on the cover of the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack and was one of Wisden’s Cricketers of the Year.
Anya finished with figures of six for 46 against India in the 2017 World Cup final. She was named player of the match and England lifted the World Cup trophy at Lord’s
Anya was named player of the tournament at the ICC Women’s World T20 competition in 2014. She finished with 13 wickets at an average of 7.53 with a best of three for six.

Anya took over 200 T20 wickets during her illustrious career.
In List A cricket Anya claimed 217 wickets.
Anya helped Western Storm to win Kia Super League titles in 2017 and 2019.
Anya took 34 for wickets for Western Storm in the Kia Super League at an average of 23.67 with a best of five for 23.
Anya’s highest List A score for Somerset is 105.
Anya represented Southern Brave in the Women’s Hundred and claimed 25 wickets at an average of 20.56 with a best of four for 13.
