A Wonderful Day of Walking Cricket at Uphill Castle

More than 60 Walking Cricketers came together to enjoy a fantastic summer festival of the game at Uphill Castle Cricket Club recently.

The festival was part of a series of summer Walking Cricket festivals taking place across the county and was supported and organised by the Weston Wickets Walking Cricket Hub.

With the sun shining and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, players enjoyed the opportunity to play three fixtures each, showcasing the inclusive, social and competitive nature of Walking Cricket.

The festival also provided plenty of opportunities for players to catch up with old friends, meet new people and enjoy the camaraderie that makes Walking Cricket so special. Halfway through the day, everyone enjoyed a wonderful cricket tea, providing the perfect chance to relax, refuel and share stories from the morning’s matches.

From the first ball to the final delivery, the atmosphere was incredibly positive and supportive, with players encouraging one another and enjoying every moment of the day.

Somerset Cricket Foundation supports Walking Cricket hubs across the county, helping more people to enjoy the game, stay active and build friendships through cricket.

Whether you’re returning to cricket after many years away or picking up a bat for the first time, Walking Cricket is a wonderful way to enjoy the sport in a friendly, welcoming and inclusive environment.
