2026 Church Service

The 2026 Somerset CCC annual Church Service will be taking place at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Sunday June 21st ahead of day three of our Rothesay County Championship match against Warwickshire.

Gates will open at 9:20am for those wishing to attend the service, which will begin at 9:30am.

Those attending the service are asked to enter via the Brian Rose Gates.

The service will be led by Club Chaplain, Rob Walrond and the speaker this year will be Bishop Mark Rylands, who is a useful cricketer who has twice produced match winning performances leading two different Dioceses to victory in the Church Times Cup. He now lives in Taunton and is a regular visitor to the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Those attending the service will sit in Block One of the Somerset Stand.

We hope that as many Somerset Members and supporters as possible will come along and help to make this another special occasion.

Somerset CCC Memberships or matchday tickets are required to gain entry to the church service.

The church service will be a part of the Festival of Red Ball Cricket which is taking place for the duration of the match.

Festival of Red Ball Cricket

Red ball cricket is the quintessential format of the game and we will once again be celebrating the traditions, heritage and everything else that makes multi-day cricket so special.

For the four days of the match we will be championing and shining a light on the long form of the game with numerous activities taking place at various locations throughout the match.

Put the date in your diary and make sure that you join us for a celebration of the summer’s greatest sport.
