Legends to attend 150th Anniversary Opening Dinner

Somerset County Cricket Club are pleased to be able to announce the names of some of the Somerset legends who will be attending our 150th Anniversary Opening Dinner.

The event will take place on Friday March 28th in the County Room at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

A number of Somerset’s trophy-winning captains will be in attendance including Brian Rose, Jamie Cox, Tom Abell and Lewis Gregory.

There will also be many more familiar faces.

Among those who have already confirmed their attendance are Peter Robinson and Terry Barwell who both appeared in Somerset’s first ever one-day final appearance at Lord’s against Kent in 1967.

Derek Taylor is travelling back from Australia especially to attend and he will be joined by Colin Dredge, Dennis Breakwell and Vic Marks among others from the Glory Years.

From the 2001 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy winning team Rob Turner, Ian Blackwell, Andy Caddick and Keith Parsons are all going to be attending along with others who have played in the Somerset sides since that time.

The night will include:

  • A three-course dinner served in the County Room
  • Q&As with our trophy-winning captains and former players
  • An exclusive raffle
  • An auction for a superb item of Somerset CCC memorabilia

Tickets for this not-to-be-missed dinner cost just £55 for Somerset CCC Members and £60 for non-Members. Tickets are available on line or from the Reception in the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion during office hours.
