Somerset CCC’s Tom Abell will be the special guest at this year’s Harry Burden Memorial Luncheon when he will participate in a Q&A session.
This year’s lunch will be held on Thursday November 21st, two weeks earlier than usual, in the Long Room at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
The Harry Burden Memorial Luncheon, held annually in memory of the seven-year-old young cricketer who tragically passed away from leukaemia in 1995, is the main fundraising event of the Tony Coles Charitable Trust which gives grants to cricket clubs and schools for the development of youth cricket.
Tickets for the event, which includes a three-course meal, the presentations of the Harry Burden Young Cricketer of the Year and Harry Burden Bursary Awards and an auction in addition to the Q&A session, are priced at £35 each.

MEMCOM – the short name for Membership Communications Group
This Group – constituted in 2023 and approved by the SCCC Board, consists of the 3 Members Directors – Chrissie Brewer, Richard Brice and Geoff Vian ( Current Chair ), plus regionally based appointed Members.
Current appointed Members are: Stephen Southwell, Joe Mason, Michelle Edwards, Tim Longman and Babs Martin
The purpose of the Group is to improve communications between the Club and the Membership, and to support the ‘heart and soul’ aspects of the Somerset Cricket family.
Building on the concept of Somerset Cricket being the focus for cricket across the South West, there will be MEMCOM events at venues away from Taunton, to improve accessibility for Members.

A more extensive programme of events will be planned for 2025 which will be advertised in the Members Bulletin on the SCCC Website.
If you are a Member who pays by Direct Debit, your Membership will automatically renew for the 2025 season.
If you are wanting to make any changes to your Membership (Membership type, seat number, cancellation etc) you must let us know by the following dates

End of Season Dinner 2024
It’s been another memorable season for Somerset County Cricket Club.
We’ve been challenging on all fronts this year and it’s certainly a summer that will live long in the memory of the Somerset faithful.
Join us at the Official End of Season Dinner on Friday October 4th as we look back on what has been a dramatic year.
The event will be held in the Colin Atkinson Pavilion from 7pm and includes:
- An arrival drink
- Three-course dinner,
- Player and coach interviews
- The 2024 end of season awards
- Live music
Tickets are available now at a cost of £55 for Members and £70 for non Members.
Somerset take on Surrey in Division One of the Vitality County Championship next week (September 9th-12th) in arguably the biggest red-ball fixture of the season so far.
Surrey currently sit at the top of the County Championship Division One table with Somerset just 24 points behind in second. A win would be massive in Somerset’s search for County Championship glory. We need your support at this fixture and as a thank you for being a Member of the Club, we would like to offer you an additional ticket, on us, to bring a friend along with you!

Due to personal reasons, the popular second hand book stall that operates within the Cooper Associates County Ground on a matchday will not be in situ for the Vitality County Championship match against Durham which begins on Thursday August 27th.
There will be a Member Forum on day two of our Vitality County Championship Division One fixture against Durham at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
2024 Members are invited to attend this event which will be held in the County Room 20 minutes after the close of play on Friday August 30th.
Jamie Cox will be updating Members with all the latest news from the Club and answering questions from the floor.
A letter from Jamie Cox
Club CEO, Jamie Cox has written a letter to provide some updates to Somerset CCC supporters as we approach the halfway point of the 2024 season.
In the letter he touches on several topics including perambulation, the closure of the Brian Rose Gates and elements of the Somerset Stand, bag searches and Members discount application.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting of Members will be held at the Cooper Associates County Ground, in the County Room on WEDNESDAY May 29th, 2024, at 19.00.
The Meeting will be live streamed and recorded for those Members unable to attend in person.

On County Championship match days a small amount of alcohol is permitted into the Cooper Associates County Ground. This equates to half a bottle of wine or 4 cans per person. Please note that this is for your first entry only. Please also note that wine must be put into a plastic container and beer/cider decanted into a plastic cup.
On Royal London Cup matches and Vitality Blast matches, alcohol will not be permitted into the Ground under any circumstances and a search for such items will take place on the entry to the Cooper Associates County Ground. Any alcohol brought into the Ground will be confiscated and destroyed.
Please also note that on Vitality Blast matchdays, cans of any type, both soft drink and alcohol, will not be permitted inside the ground and must be decanted before entry.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP PARKING
SCCC Members who hold a blue badge, plus 1875 Club and Long Room Members can now book parking for our Vitality County Championship fixture against Nottinghamshire which begins on Friday April 19th.
Parking can be booked via our Members portal.
Please note that parking within the Cooper Associates County Ground is extremely limited, and parking will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The online portal provides blue badge holders plus 1875 Club and Long Room Members with the quickest and most efficient opportunity of securing a parking space.
Bookings will open at 10am two weeks before the first day of each home Vitality County Championship match.
If you are successful in securing a space, you will need to complete the online payment in advance.
The cost of booking is £10 per day.
On arrival you will need to present your Membership card AND your email confirmation to gain access to the Cooper Associates County Ground.
Parking will be in the St James Street and Priory Bridge Road car parks.
Vehicles will be allowed to enter the ground between 9:30am and 9:55am.
No vehicle movement will be permitted between 9:55am and 11:30am or during the lunch and tea intervals.
Vehicles can come and go outside of the above times between 11:30am and 6pm.
Vehicles will be held within the ground for a minimum of 15 minutes after the close of play to allow for the safe exit of pedestrians.
Refunds will only be granted if there is no play.
Somerset County Cricket Club are giving Members and supporters the opportunity to interact with our new CEO, Jamie Cox in one week’s time.
We will be hosting a special virtual forum on Tuesday March 26th, where Jamie will be our special guest.
The former Somerset skipper will be discussing his vision for the Club, reliving his playing days and answering questions put to him by viewers.
The event will begin at 7pm and will be screened via our Official YouTube channel.
The forum will last for approximately an hour, and questions can be submitted via the chat function during the event.

MEMBER EVENT IN BATH
The Somerset County Cricket Club Members Committee are inviting our Members to join them next month for an event at Bath Cricket Club.
The meeting will be hosted by Member Director, Richard Brice and will feature a presentation from Somerset Cricket Foundation Managing Director, Jon Bendle.
The Somerset Cricket Foundation exists to support, grow and diversify grassroots cricket as well as to use the power of cricket to develop communities and make a positive difference to people’s lives.
The event will take place on Thursday March 21st from 7:30pm, and gives you the chance to discuss everything that is currently happening at the Club.

Long Room/1875 Club Members, we are inviting you to join us for a FREE lunch in the 1875 Club on Wednesday February 21st.
The purpose of the lunch is to showcase the new food we are offering in these premium facilities on matchdays in 2024. Members of staff will also be on hand to give a re-introduction to our online reservation system ‘ResDiary’. This is what Members should use to book their dining experiences in 2024.

The event will begin at 12:30pm and the guest speaker will be SCCC Head Grounds Person, Nick Pepper.

UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO WET WEATHER THE MEMBERS FORUM HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Due to flooding, the Lord Botham Stand will be closed to Members and ticket holders. This includes, toilets, catering, the walkway and all boxes. The water is coming up through the stand to the point it has flooded the lift shaft. With more rain forecast during this match, it is not currently safe to open. We apologise for any inconvenience
