Somerset Members and supporters turned out in force at the Cooper Associates County Ground yesterday evening to greet their heroes when the Club hosted a celebration event to mark the recent winning of the Vitality Blast.

Crowds of fans of all ages queued to have their picture taken with the trophy, and just after 6pm Pete Trego welcomed the Somerset players onto stage in the Jurassic Fibre Fan Village.

Pete interviewed Lewis Gregory and Tom Abell, both of whom were loudly applauded as a list of the startling achievements of the 2023 T20 winning squad were announced.

The competitions two leading wicket takers, Matt Henry and Ben Green also recalled their memories of the remarkable tournament.

Throughout the evening, video montages of the campaign were shown on the big screens as the players mixed with the large crowd and spent their time signing autographs, posing for photographs and speaking with the Somerset faithful.

The players even took the time to speak with five-year-old Bodhi Atterton who is currently in Bristol Children’s Hospital receiving treatment for Leukemia. Bodhi joined the players on the field at Edgbaston following the historic win 10 days ago but was unable to attend last nights event.
