2026 Vitality Blast Fixtures Announced

The 2026 Vitality Blast fixtures have been revealed!

We can now announce the dates on which our Men’s and Women’s Vitality Blast matches will be taking place.

2025 was an incredible year for Somerset in T20 cricket. A professional women’s team took to the field for the first time ever to represent the Club, whilst our men’s team went all the way in their competition, lifting the trophy following an incredible Finals Day at Edgbaston!

What does 2026 have in store? There’s only one way to find out!

Somerset Men

Somerset begin the defence of the Vitality Blast crown with a repeat of the 2025 final when we welcome Hampshire Hawks to the Cooper Associates County Ground on Friday May 22nd.

The big home local derby against Gloucestershire is on Friday June 26th with the away match in Bristol taking place on Friday June 5th.

Glamorgan and Warwickshire Bears visit Taunton on June 4th and 7th respectively whilst we finish the group stage off with home games against Northants Steelbacks and Worcestershire Rapids in July.

Our away matches will see us take on Warwickshire Bears (May 24th), Glamorgan (May 29th), Worcestershire Rapids (June 28th), Northants Steelbacks (July 5th) and Derbyshire Falcons (July 8th).

Somerset Women

Somerset begin the 2026 Vitality Blast campaign with a home double header against Hampshire Hawks on Friday May 22nd before another double header against Warwickshire Bears at Edgbaston two days later.

We then take on Yorkshire for the first time when they visit the Cooper Associates County Ground on May 27th. We then have two double headers on the road when we take on Lancashire Thunder (May 29th) and defending champions Surrey (May 31st).

Warwickshire Bears visit Taunton on June 7th and we host Durham on June 26th as part of a double header which will see Somerset Men take on Gloucestershire.

Surrey visit the CACG on June 28th before we travel to Headingley to take on Yorkshire in a double header (July 3rd) and visit Essex on July 7th).

We make the trip to Trent Bridge to face The Blaze (July 10th) before finishing the group stage with a home double header fixture against Essex on July 12th.

2026 Vitality Blast

The new-look Vitality Blast will ‘Blast Off’ with 16 double headers across the opening Bank Holiday Weekend of the men’s and women’s competitions next season. A total of 61 double headers will be played next season with both the men’s and women’s competitions revamped following this year’s county-led review, that will see a greater focus on derby rivalries, more matches on fan-friendly days and a more balanced schedule to support player performance.

The Vitality Blast Men’s Competition and Vitality Blast Women’s Competition group stage will conclude over ‘Finale Weekend’ (Friday July 10th – Sunday July 12th) with the men’s quarter-finals immediately following on Wednesday July 15th.

Vitality Blast Women’s Finals Day will mirror the men’s format – with two semi-finals and a final – and will be played on Friday July 17th at the Kia Oval. Vitality Blast Men’s Finals Day will follow the next day at Edgbaston.

Vitality Blast Men’s Competition

Group A: Derbyshire Falcons, Durham, Lancashire Lightning, Leicestershire Foxes, Notts Outlaws, Yorkshire.

Group B: Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire Steelbacks, Somerset, Warwickshire Bears, Worcestershire Rapids.

Group C: Essex, Kent Spitfires, Hampshire Hawks, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex Sharks.

Format:

Each county will play 12 group-stage matches – six at home and six away. Counties will play the other five counties in their group home and away, in addition to one home match against a county outside their group and one away match against another county from outside their group.

Quarter-finals:

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals in addition to two best third-placed teams. The winners of each quarter-final qualify for Vitality Blast Men’s Finals Day.

Vitality Blast Women’s Competition

Group: Durham, Essex, Hampshire Hawks, Lancashire Thunder, Somerset, Surrey, The Blaze, Warwickshire Bears, Yorkshire.

Format:

Each county will play 12 group-stage matches – six home and six away.

Each county will play four counties twice and four counties once.

Knockout stage:

The top four counties at the end of the group stage will progress to women’s Vitality Blast Women’s Finals Day, which will include two semi-finals and the Final.

International T20 Cricket

Rothesay County Championship & Metro Bank One Day Cup

Our men’s and women’s teams will once again be chasing glory in the 50-over Metro Bank One Day Cup in 2026, whilst our men will be hoping to make history by winning the four-day Rothesay County Championship for the first time.

These competition fixtures will be revealed on Thursday.
